Katie Panfil is a singer/fiddler/mandolin picker/keyboard player/proud Buffalonian. Her interest in bluegrass music is deeply-rooted, originally playing with the Panfil Family Bluegrass Band (Mark and Chris Panfil of Creek Bend and Scott Panfil of Breakaway). After studying with pickers Andy Cushing, Butch Baldassari, and Barry Mitterhoff (Hot Tuna) and jazzman Dave Schiavone, she attended the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
Currently, Katie plays solo originals, traditional bluegrass, forgotten quirky standards, and reimagined pop tunes every Tuesday at Merge on Delaware from 7-9.
You can find her playing around town almost every night of the week with The Andrew J. Reimers Country Punk Extravaganza, Erie Lackawanna Railroad, and Stone Row.
