Alberto Giacalone was born in Salemi, Italy . He began studying guitar at the age of six and five years later fate introduced him to piano. It was the musical institute L. Costa of Vigevano and Conservatorio A.Vivaldi of Alessandria where Giacalone studied piano (1978 – 1982). Also 1979, Giacalone enrolled in the Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori (SIAE) as a composer and lyricist. With creativity and strong musical ability, Giacalone began to bridge a gap between his talents and the world of music comfortably working both domestically and internationally.
Sparked by challenges of exploring new directions and diverse styles, he crafted music for feature films, television, documentaries, animation, commercials and live performances.
Giacalone has strong abilities to conform different world stems from experiences as a young adult where he worked in numerous hotels throughout Italy, France and Switzerland. Learning and understanding cultures in Hotel Duca di Milano, Hotel Villa Principe Leopoldo (Lugano) Hotel de Paris (Montecarlo) and Live Concert with Tullio Depiscopo, Happy Time Club (Milano) ecc…, Giacalone established a keen sense of producing diverse cultural musical material.
Giacalone spent many years collaborating with the extraordinary Vito Pallavicini, an Italian lyricist who has written songs for famous artists, one which was performed by the legendary Elvis Presley.
Alberto Giacalone makes his efforts on composing music for various media which include: Drug Wars (HBO), The Escape of the Innocent Ones (Rai Trade) and Missionherj (Acquarius film). He is prepared to share his music on a global scale with true passion in composing for television and film.
