17 year old jazz pianist and vocalist, Hattie Simon, brings a youthful and pristine interpretation to standards from the Great American Songbook, contemporary jazz and alternative music of artists like Norah Jones, Regina Spektor and Ben Folds.
Singing and playing piano since the age of nine, Hattie began her serious exploration of jazz at the age of twelve. Hattie now frequently performs at coffeehouses and live music venues throughout southern Maine and has appeared as a guest artist on the television show 207 on WCSH.
In 2011, Hattie produced her first EP, La Vie En Jazz, recorded locally in southern Maine at Port Media Recording Studio. She received some gifted help on the recording from bassist Nick Thompson-Brown, who often plays back-up for Hattie at gigs.
Her influences include jazz greats Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Kurt Elling, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Abbey Lincoln, Bobby McFerrin and Jamie Cullum.
