“For The Broken” is a four-piece Post-hardcore band from Fredericksburg, Virginia. The band created a unique sound that is influenced by vocals of Memphis May Fire, the heavy drums Of Mice & Men, melodic guitars of Hands Like Houses, and the stage presence of A Day To Remember.
In high school Caleb Buttner (Guitar) and Josh Bibens (Vocals/Bass) started writing acoustic material with former member Tyler Simms (guitar). After receiving positive feedback for playing at a local High School talent show, the three decided to take music seriously and start a band. Caleb’s brother, Jacob Buttner, became a great addition on drums and close friend Bryce Clarke screaming and singing. They became popular fast placing second in a DC Battle of The bands of 50 bands in January 2012. In June 2012 Tyler Simms decided to depart from the band in order to pursue college.
Since For The Broken was down a member, for the remaining of the summer they held tryouts for guitar while continuing to write music. In August 2012 they found and recruited member Brett Duncan for guitar. Through out the fall of 2012 they played around Virginia and wrote their EP titled “Aurora”. In January of 2013, the band settled down to record their 5 songs EP entitled “Aurora” with Andrew Baylis of Life On Repeat, which will be released late Spring 2013. After recording, they joined Persistent Heart Media for Booking and Publicity. “For The Broken” will be touring throughout the spring and summer of 2013.
