Recesion were the brainchild of songwriter Themis Nakas. It started out as a solo project and it turned out to be a band. 2011 saw the release of Themis' first album, called 'In money we trust'. In this album everything was performed by Themis. The album has a political and everyday life lyrical content and can be defined as rock/pop musically. In early 2012 Dimitris Sourlas joined the band as a bassist and Yiannis Triferoulis as a drummer. Elias Papadopoulos, a good friend of Themis and a great musician overall played additional guitar on the first live of the new band that was formed, called "Themis Nakas' Recesion". Recesion (and not Recession) is spelled wrong deliberately. On the 27th of April 2013, the new album "Heavy Mental" was released. Recesion's line-up consisted of Themis, Dimitris and Yiannis with the addition of Aris Papageorgiou on lead guitar. Since Themis is moving to Manchester, Recesion call it a day. The rest of the band will keep on playing music with their main bands (they actually were on loan by Themis, ha, ha) back in Greece. Themis will now try his luck in the UK.
