Annelise Walley, a 17-year-old singer/songwriter from Auburn, Alabama, is building an enthusiastic fan base from across the region with her blues-y, country sound that she delivers with an emotional honesty that grabs the listener’s ear and heart. Her music is a crossover style that is rooted in country, but appeals to a much broader audience.
Already a seasoned performer and songwriter, Annelise brings a lively concert of country, Southern Rock, blues, pop, and originals with her band, “Homebrew.” Audiences greatly enjoy the dance-able, sing-able songs Annelise offers along with her warmth and humor. Annelise’s goal is to make her audience feel as if they are a part of the show. “Whenever I perform,” the exhuberant high school senior says, “I feel like I am at a party!” Annelise’s voice will exude sweet innocence at one moment, then flow into a powerful, blues-y sound that defies her young age.
Annelise’s voice and stage presence has earned her the honors of opening for Travis Tritt in Columbus, Georgia in January 2011, and for Bo Bice in Phenix City, Alabama, in June 2011. She can frequently be found performing at East Alabama and West Georgia restaurants and outdoor events. Venue owners are delighted whenever Annelise performs because of her consistently happy, sweet nature and her ability to draw revenue-producing crowds.
In August 2010, Annelise’s debut CD, Wildheart (Kim Copeland Produtions), was released. Standing in stark contrast with the multitude of young female artists who sing of their heartbreaks and bitterness, Annelise’s positive outlook on life offers listeners a sense of hope. On this album, Annelise’s original song entitled “Stronger” tells the story of some teenage foster children she had befriended. One of these girls told Annelise, “foster kids are the strongest kids there are.” Another of Annelise’s originals, “Hope in Tomorrow,” speaks to a close friend whose father was murdered when Annelise and her friend were only 13. Annelise continues to write deep lyrics with beautiful melodies. In addition to Wildheart, Annelise’s more recent singles are now available on CD Baby and iTunes.
When she is not submerged in music, Annelise attends Lee-Scott Academy where she is on the State championship dance team. She rides horses and hangs out with her Golden Retriever, Sammy. Annelise’s favorite places to laugh with friends are Mellow Mushroom, Waffle House, and Sno-Biz Shaved Ice Hut in Auburn. Her love for Jesus keeps her feet on the ground with her eyes toward Heaven.
