Whitekaps began in 1983 heavily influenced by the surf / skate culture and the sounds of Agent Orange, The Crowd, JFA, The Gears and Simpletones. By 1987 they had settled into a lineup that would remain together until 2008 with Dean Briggs drums, Glenn McKenzie bass, KC Maddox vocals and Rich Paul guitar.
Known for their humorous lyrics and fun raucous shows that included a lot of crowd involvement, beer and barely clad punk rock girls, the Whitekaps played with most of the bands they grew up loving as well as the 90’s wave of punk bands such as Greenday, Offspring, Blink 182, Pennywise, Sublime, No Doubt, Face To Face, Ill Repute, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Lagwagon, Jugheads Revenge, Strung Out and Guttermouth.
After numerous singles, three full length albums, hundreds of shows and three US tours, Whitekaps are still going strong. With the addition of Jim Kupsh of Drain Bramaged on drums, Josh Neel of Amerikan Made on guitar and Danny Tessier of Slab on guitar, a new record Anarchy Beach, is set for release in the fall of 2013.
