Drawing you in with hypnotizing hooks and whimsical lyrics, then smacking you with a taste of bitter truth and reality, is none other than the Texas-based emcee, Deejay, and producer, DJ B. Ray. His music takes you on a lyrical ride through his old neighborhood to the most happening club in the city all in the same day. The beats for his music alone are phenomenal, but when mixed with some of the clever one-liners @ witty punch lines this emcee stays equipped with, you might be in for something unforgettable.
Wanting to do something with his life B. Ray tried the college scene out, but after losing a scholarship,” the money just wasn’t there” he said, “but the mic was”. It was after all that drama when music hijacked his heart and started taking him in a whole other direction. B. Ray started a label called Bust Back Records then about a year later he found it in his best interest to sign with 303 Records in Denver, Colorado. It was there that he worked side by side with Denver’s premier producer, Lift and Don Scott from Universal. Constantly shaping as an artist and trying to find his one-way in life, B. Ray packed his bags and headed for the Land of Oz.
Since relocating to Kansas, B. Ray has developed a pretty impressive resume that’s worth glancing over twice.
His album ‘You Gotta Feel Me” which comes out in march of 2011 is full of club anthems that are guaranteed to keep people glued to the dance floor , going crazy like there trying to get loose. His signature trade mark, “The Whaann” is a sound that will be stuck in people’s heads for days, especially after they hear his single, “Hit’em With That Whaann”. Other songs like “You Gotta Feel Me” and “Go B. Ray” will leave the crowd wanting to know where they can hear more from this pioneer of an artist.
From the tattoos beneath his skin to his lyrics you can tell music flows through B. Ray’s veins.
