move from Kansas to central Texas to become a singer/songwriter?

Kris Smith has done just that. In only three years in the Hill Country,
Kris has recorded his debut cd, “Nothin’ But A Memory”, eight tracks
themed around that relationship which completely tore open the
the heart and soul.
From Wichita to San Marcos in 2008, he began
the journey all the while not knowing anyone in the area. His songs
range from love made to love lost, personal and professional failure,
enjoying a night out and theme driven character tales.
From his first gig at Cheatham Street Warehouse in ’08 playing happy hours to hosting the open mic at Jacks Roadhouse for 2 years, he has used each show to improve his songs and sound while earning a local fan base.
During his short time in Texas Kris has played acoustic shows all around the Austin/San Antonio area. Venues such as Riley’s Tavern, The Happy Cow, Billy’s Ice House, Gray Horse Saloon, Juniors Icehouse, and The Lucky Lounge to name a few. Along with several regional acoustic shows in Midland, El Paso and in Tombstone, Benson and Tucson, Arizona. Kris’ music is full of heart, honesty and perseverance, which create a perfect recipe for “real” Country music.
