Ian and I have always been interested in music and listening to music in general. We both had our own views on writing and musical taste. We had messed around and written joke songs just for fun, but we were never serious about it.
Then we each went through our own musical renaissance. Our tastes changed immensely, so obviously, our writing changed with it. Looking back now, we have no idea how we used to listen to what we did.
One night, we were just hanging out, and got an itching to write a song. It was quite late, and we wanted to write outside. This was the spark that started Slow Motion Commotion. We went to a park that was about 25 minutes from my house, because the park is open all day and night. We sat down and wrote our first song in one night. That song now has the title "Thugs Need Hugs (Philip's Lament Pt. I)."
We now have a small cache of songs that are finished, and some that need a little bit of finishing. We look forward to playing more shows, Open Mic Nights, and First Fridays.
We cannot be more thankful for the support that we have gotten so far, and hope to get more followers in the days and months to come. We are open to trying new things, and we absolutely love the sound that we have obtained.
