Emerging onto the Windsor, Ontario music scene in 2012, Rocketships has already beome a galvanizing presence locally and beyond. Originating from a town that gave rise to such Canadian musical powerhouses as Shania Twain and The Tea Party, Rocketships continues the tradition. Band members Bevan Bezaire (guitars/vocals) Kamil Chodziakiewicz (guitars), Dave Fletcher (guitars), Taylor Horne (bass) and Eric Gurney (drums) come together to create a powerfully original and hard hitting blend of music and melody.
Best described as alternative hard rock and drawing influences from such bands as Foo Fighters and Finger Eleven, Rocketships still maintains it’s own unique sound while staying true to their musical roots.
With a strong and dedicated fan base, Rocketships became a well recognized name around Windsor which led to important shows for the band including the E3 Music festival and an opening slot for Alexisonfire. With the release of their self-titled CD it peaked the interest of local stations 88.7 FM and 95.1 The Rock who played the song ‘So Long’ which triggered a flurry of requests for the bands music. The CD release show was a massive success, playing to a capacity crowd at the popular rock club ‘The Room’.
Not willing to sit idle the band have since shot two videos for the songs ‘Unicorn’ and ‘The Line’ which they are hopeful will receive rotation on Much Music in Canada.
Currently Rocketships are in the process of booking live shows around the Toronto area and are in production for their third video for the song ‘Steal Away’.
