Having sung from an early age and given vocal coaching from the age of 9, Martin found himself drawn to the world of musical theatre and studied for a Diploma in Performing Arts.
After deciding to raise a family, he realized he would need a "real job" that paid the bills. To do this, he made use of his vocal training and started his own karaoke business, which he successfully ran for 13 years before making the move into the UK club circuit as a self-contained male vocalist. He soon became a favourite at many of the clubs around the North West of England, with his varied repertoire which appealed to all ages.
At home on any stage, whether performing in the theatre or in a bar, Martin has the ability to entertain any audience. His repertoire includes the standards, Broadway show tunes, country, pop, rock and even the occasional operatic aria if called upon!
Prior to moving to Canada, Martin also developed (by popular demand) a Neil Diamond tribute act, which was very successful.
In Canada, Martin's main focus has once again been the theatre, having performed in 7 shows over the past two years:
The Full Monty - Harold Nichols
Guys and Dolls - Rusty Charlie
Into The Woods - Cinderella's Father
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - Simeon & Potiphar
My Fair Lady - Alfred Doolittle
Urinetown - Senator Fipp
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - Jonas Fogg/Ensemble
Currently, Martin is planning a number of projects for the future, including his first studio album, performing in concert once again, making a move back into directing for the theatre and, as always, performing on stage in some of the best shows Toronto has to offer.
