Purple Valentino / Bio

A band formed from an intercontinental friendship between Brian (Vocals) & Dougie (Guitar). The first songs were written and recorded in Johannesburg during June & July 2010, we then pulled on the excellent talents of Greg Witt (Drums) and Nick D'Hotman (Bass), and after a few practice sessions three songs were recorded at Robin Walsh's Undahaus studio in SA.

A year later Brian and Dougie teamed up with the European PV lineup, namely Marc Hughes (Guitar), Scott Wyper (Bass) and Mo MacDonald (drums) to bring you two more tracks.

After another years break, due to the space between the band recorded and released "Crude Hearts" which was written in collaboration with Scottish writer Deborah Murray. This was quickly followed by major radio station airplay in UK and South Africa. In 2013, the band were forced to regroup due to Mo leaving for a new life in New Zealand and Brian failing to gain a UK work visa. Dougie stepped into lead vocals, Glen Arnott was recruited to replace Mo on drums and the band decided to seek out a violinist to give the sound a different edge. Danny Graham was recruited and was immediately taken to the Washoose studios where he would record strings on the 3 track single "Stay".
