Ships For The Queen / Bio

The Philadelphia-based band "Ships for the Queen" began their epic voyage together in 2011 when singer-songwriter Melissa Olivieri went in search of a band who could perform her songs with her. When she met up with guitarist Chris Thompson and drummer Adam Rosenfeld it was love at first sound! They sailed onward in search of a bassist and discovered the extremely talented Ed Yates.
Ships for the Queen plays original songs, blending Indie Pop and Alternative Rock with a nice balance of upbeat and more mellow tunes. With three of the members contributing to vocals it really keeps things interesting and leaves you guessing what you will hear next. Their sound is truly unique, although it has a faint echo of such influences as: Feist, Fiona Apple, Amy Mann, Colbie Caillat, The Beatles, and The Who.
