Meet The Band:
Chad Darou has been playing bluegrass music since the ripe old age of
8. 2008 National Champion his dobro is the drive in the band's sound
and he is the man behind most of Stealing Time's original
arrangements. Chad has had the pleasure of touring with such greats as
Bill Keith, Bill Harrell, Heather Berry, Gibson Brothers & James King.
Liza Darou is a talented young woman. She and her powerful mandolin
chop, have provided the hearty rhythm and sassy, perfectly blending
lead and tenor harmonies since day one with Stealing Time. Liza is a
respected vocalist in the bluegrass world noted for her amazing "hair
Jim Treat is without a doubt the backbone of Stealing Time's sound.
His rock solid bass playing has given him the opportunity to play with
names like Eager, Hampton & McGill, Dick Smith & Mike O'Reilly and the
one and only Mr. Bill Monroe himself!
Sean Martin started playing fiddle at the age of 5. He grew up playing
various styles of fiddle music, and has now made a strong entrance
into bluegrass music. Just 17 years old, Sean has had great
opportunities to play fiddle with many well known fiddle players like
Glen Duncan, Jay Unger & the great Bobby Hicks. Aside from his prowess
as a fiddler, Sean has added mandolin and vocals to the mix making him
a well rounded asset to the band.
Jeremy lives in Buffalo, NY, and joins the band on 5-string banjo. A
skilled and precise musician on guitar, banjo, and upright bass, he
has been playing and performing bluegrass and acoustic music in
Western and Central New York since the early ‘90s, having played and
recorded with Dempsey Station, Grass Act, and the McCarthy-Paisley
Band. Jeremy brings to the group a flair for arrangements and
delivers a driving, focused banjo sound suitable for both traditional
and contemporary bluegrass music.
David Carey has been steeped in bluegrass music his entire life. This
Vestal, NY native started playing guitar at age 7 with his dad's
bluegrass band, and quickly grew into one of the most notable players
in the "Empire State." In addition to his driving rhythm and skillful
lead playing, David is also known for his outstanding vocal skills.
His souful style is original, instantly identifiable and always
tasteful. He is definitely a talent not easily forgotten.
