Drake began making music in the fall of 2011 when Cam Ferranti and Pat Troester teamed up to write a few songs. Mike Ross was the natural choice for bassist, and the three began seeking a drummer and a nice quiet place to make a lot of noise. They tried and failed to obtain both of these items for nearly three months, all the while growing ever more antsy. Then, ALAS! they realized that Mike Mast had been right in front of their noses the whole time. They immediately began writing and practicing for serious. Many gigs soon followed.
That Christmas, Drake traveled to Pittsburgh to record their debut EP, "Friends That You Don't Know" The following two months of gigging and post-production were brutal but...well...productive! It is at this point that we catch up to join our heros on their journey through time and space.
All of the pieces are now coming together: the record is being mixed and mastered with an eye towards a late march release; a second batch of shirts and stickers are being printed; and gigs in Erie, Edinboro, and Pittsburgh continue to be booked. Oh yeah, and they're writing a whole bunch of new songs with fabulous face-melting aptitude. It's gonna be one hell of a spring, kids.
