EDDIE BLACK born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He's always had a passion for just about every aspect of creating music and performance. He grew up listening to all kinds of music. "I would sit and listen to my parents records for hours, 50's to 70's stuff like the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Elvis, Roy Orbison, the Eagles and Pink Floyd to name a few", says Eddie.
At an early age he began piano lessons and at age 12 he learned to play the alto saxophone during junior high school and started picking up the electric guitar and bass guitar. "I was hooked and could not get enough of the electric guitar" says Eddie. At age 14 Eddie started songwriting. "I love poetry and always enjoyed putting my thoughts and feelings to paper."
Eddie and his band received industry attention and positive feedback from industry reps including from Universal Music Canada and a music review from Music News Nashville, U.S.A. Eddie had begun to established himself as talented songwriter and musician internationally being recognized from Calgary to Toronto to Hollywood, California to Nashville and as far away as Queensland, Australia. Eddie's band entered and won the Calgary Star Search Competition in 2009. Following that experience, Eddie's band was offered and accepted to headline for Super Nova's Summer Warefare Tour in August of 2009 while going through Calgary.
Eddie performed two events showcasing his music in Toronto during Canadian Music Week in March 2011 and then spent 3 months in the fall and winter of 2011 in Nashville, where he was invited to open a show on the 29th of October for Canadian Music Artists; Michelle Wright, Patricia Conroy, Victoria Banks and Carolyn Dawn Johnson.
In the Spring of 2012 Eddie returned to Nashville after accepting an invitation by a local charity to help to raise money for Vets through live music concerts. "It feels great when you can do something good with your talent, something non profit to help others less fortunate was an experience I will never forget. So many have put their lives on the line for our Country and our freedom. Many of them need aid and assistance and it humbles me to see that. I am grateful for those who have served in the military, including my grandfather for their courage, sacrifice and their lives", says Eddie.
Eddie is currently writing new material and plans to be back in the studio with his band and shooting a major music video some time in the late spring of 2013 and to tour with his band in Canada and in the United States.
