A Long Island native who relocated to New York City, Chris Sampogna is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter solo rock act. With his experience in being in loud rock bands, he’s currently enjoying the intimacy and rawness of playing his full-band songs with just his voice and an acoustic guitar, and so are his audiences. With shows in 2012 in the tri-state area as well as the New York City circuit including a residency at The National Underground, he plans on continuing to please crowds with his energetic, humored story telling and slick, undeniable fretwork.
His first solo full-length album titled “The Calm Before The Storm” was released in late December of 2012 and has been getting airplay on KIT21 Radio, Breakout Radio, and also featured in an upcoming online blog, Vents Magazine. The debut features Chris performing all the instruments on 11 songs (1 ripping cover of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”) solely written by himself. Chris’s past voice and guitar work has been heard nationwide with licensing placements on PGA Tour, ESPN, the Weather Channel, MLB and many more. With this latest release, the intentions are to gain more exposure through licensing and radio support while continuing to build his audience from the ground up live.
