21 Rising got their start in 2001 after the bombings of the world trade center. It all started with a group of guys that worked at a ship yard in Pascagoula, Ms. Being part of the crew that was commissioned to build the brand new USS New York(LPD-21) and using the steel from the World Trade Centers, gave them the basis for their band and the songs in which they would soon write and record. 21 Rising would soon record such songs as “Help”, “Hull and Tower”, and “Blood Rush” . Their songs have hit local radio stations on the Mississippi, Alabama and Florida gulf coast. In April of 2010, they lost their lead singer Kenneth Lee “Phreak” Higgins in a horrific motorcycle accident. The band then decided to disband and go their separate ways. Each member was deciding to do something different and try to start a new adventure. For some reason fate has told them that’s just not going to happen. In April 2013 exactly 3 years to the date of losing their friend and band brother, they had their first practice and felt whole again. So the search was on for a new singer not to replace but to continue the legacy Kenneth had helped to start. 21 Rising has played a few local shows since and have rocked the crowd and left the patrons begging for more! I am so excited to announce that the band has found what they needed to continue on. So with these few changes that have been made we now have a completed line up of great musicians and great guys to continue the legacy. John Short on drums brings the epic heart beat to the music. Josh Connaly on rhythm guitar ,Carl “Crash” Cronin on lead guitar, and introducing Clayton Cobb on bass, and Roy Ogle on vocals. New sounds are coming out of this band. They have moved mountains and have went to hell and back suffering heart ache and loss all at the same time. But like a phoenix, they shall rise through the ashes and will stand as strong as a tower and stand as one, under one banner, one name and one sound. They are 21 Rising
