Sharon showed interest in music and singing at a very early age. She began singing solos when she was in the fourth grade. She has sang at numerous PTA meetings, countless solos at church, weddings, and a variety of other social events. One of Sharon's fondest memories of singing is when she was a freshman in high school and was selected to be one of a very elite few to join the high school choir. This was due to her very mature sounding voice and her ability to sing the more challeging songs. Sharon was in every music group her school had. She was in the choir, the girls and mixed ensembles and was Vice President of Modern Music Masters in her junior year. Sharon's name also appears in the 1985 edition of "Who's Who In Music". Sharon also sang the National Anthem at countless ball games and band competetions at her high school. She was also chosen to do the entertainment when her school did theater productions also. She was also in the All County Chorus where she was the lead soloist. Sharon also made the All State Chorus during her sophmore, junior and senior year of high school. During Sharon's senior year of high school all of her musical expertice paid off when she got the highest music honor given to a high school student, the Enrico Caruso Award.
Since high school Sharon is still singing and has had the honor of singing in vocal groups under the direction of some top name conductors. She attended Campbellsville College in 1984-85 and was the only freshman chosen to be in the opera "Gianni Schicchi" by Puccini and got one of the leading roles. While at Campbellsville, Sharon also played a part as one of the nuns in Roger's and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music". Sharon is now releasing her debut CD "Simply Sharon" and is due to come out this year..
"I give God all the praise and all the glory. He has given me this gift of singing and I will always sing His praises", Sharon says. "I am honored to be able to do something I love to do. And it gives me joy to know others enjoy hearing me sing", Sharon adds.
Sharon's favorite quote: "Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music". - Martin Luther
