Samuel McDuffie is an upcoming songwriter who loves to entertain through gifted songwriting and immaculate stage presence. After being in several bands throughout college, all with modest success, he decided to venture into a solo career. In 2005, he took his acoustic guitar and his songs and traveled the Southeast on a 120 day tour. Playing prime venues such as Eddies Attic, Crimson Moon, Zydeco's, 550 Blues, Smith's Old Bar. On this tour he started living the dream, but the road proved to be a troubled path. In 2007, Samuel McDuffie stepped out of the music scene to focus on the next stage of his life...getting married to his biggest fan and supporter and working as a 9 to 5’er. He has one album under his belt entitled “As the Sun Goes Down.”
After taking a 3 year hiatus, he has started playing and writing songs, as well as, working on a follow up too his previous album . Samuel is knocking the dust of his guitar by playing local gigs and heading into the studio, and plans on making it a good 2013.
Samuel McDuffie is greatly influenced by music of the Appalachians and the Folk Revival of 2012. Some bands that he finds inspiration from are: The Decemberist, The Head and The Heart, The Lumineers, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, The Avett Brothers, and many more.
