Last Day On Earth is a four piece rock band from Detroit, MI. With influences such as Thrice, Small Brown Bike, Brand New, Coheed and Cambria and Deftones, the band takes elements of rock, punk and post-punk to create a unique sound identifiable by the voice of singer Simon Downey.
Last Day On Earth is Simon Downey (vocals), Justin Carls (guitar), Chris Slapnik (bass, dirty vocals), and Frankie Concord (drums, vocals, programming). Many members had even shared the stage with each other in their previous bands while playing gigs around their hometown.
Every band from Detroit will always state how the city has helped shape the sound and attitude of their band. It’s undeniable that the Motor City has a way of callousing a band’s work ethic and pushing the “do it yourself” mentality. When not playing, songwriting or recording, the band is designing their own t-shirts and posters, directing their photoshoots, posting flyers and posters everywhere within a 200 mile radius, and promoting and networking with music fans all over the world.
Last Day On Earth has just released a 4 song EP with Ryan Thomas at Mixed Signals Studios.
The 4 songs are now available for free download.
