Jonathan Holmes was born and raised in Newport News, Virginia , and has always had a passion for music. In his younger years he started as a member of the St Johns C.O.G.I.C Children’s choir. He then took his talents to school as a member of the Crittington middle, and Heritage High school choirs. Still singing in church and other venues, Jonathans voice was heard not only in Va but in other states as well. It was clear that his voice was a gift from god, singing at his graduation in 2009 it was a day to remember. Singing dare to dream; the choirs voices inspired the graduates as well as the packed out Hampton University Convocation Center. After graduation he got right to work forming a group with a couple of talented college students. He named the group Freqwencee. The Group appeared on fox 43’s morning news. Shortly after Freqwencee opened up for Musiq Soulchild at Elizabeth City University. They released a CD and a few music videos that you can stream on Youtube. Jonathan one year later connected with Sinatra Royal a hip hop artist from Hampton. Sinatra gave him the opportunity to spice up his songs up with that smooth tune, featured on songs like Breakfast at Tiffanys and Lavish. Recently Jonathan has sang at a campaign breakfast kick off for Hampton’s newly appointed city council woman Ms. Chris Snead. Standing ovations and praises were given after the song by the host. He’s now hard at work soon to release his first Project, Formally known as Jay Holmes this artist now goes By “Jonathnn”.
