Lindo is not only a spoken word artist, but an actor and an emcee. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lindo has created a buzz performing at "open mics" and being visible in the Philadelphia spoken word scene. He has been feature at Busboy and Poets in Washington, D.C., Germantown Poetry Festival as part of On Point Ink, and many other Philadelphian open mics venues.
He is known to articulate life, making everything living his canvas, creating images with words. It is this compelling talent that allows him to appeal to individuals from all walks of life.He has been quoted saying that his love and inspiration for music is a "vary variation of things." His motivation ranges from metaphysical poet John Donne to artists such as Nat King Cole, comedian George Carlin, Joe Budden, MisConception, Funeral for A Friend, Fall Out Boys, Clipse, Talaam Acey and many others including the TV show The Wire, the TV show Heroes, the movie and Butterfly Effect.
When Lindo is not performing he spends his time hosting, recording, acting and outreach in the community. He has hosted the Germantown Poetry Festival which is an annual event to celebrate youth empowerment and voices in a poetic matter in Philadelphia. Also, he has hosted many other events in the Philadelphia area. As much as Lindo love performing he value so much being able to commit to doing workshops, discussions, and volunteering at schools, community center and colleges. Lindo has been a speaker at several English conference such as 2009 Mid-Atlantic College Students Literary Conference, 2007 Northeast Mordern Langauge Assocation and others. Lindo has also made his acting debut by staring as Bashir Hines in the “The Nigga Files” by Donja Love, a play about the stagnant behavior among adolescents in the black community. He does all this while performing and currently recording an untitled mixtape.
Lindo defines himself as being most thoughtful because he takes the time to convey life in the wittiest ways. He conceives thoughts to impregnate the mind and sees the abortion of ignorance. Part of the creative group On Point Ink (which includes Steve Megga, Alisha, Black Cancer, and Lindo) he looks forward to the rest of the world discovering who he is and why he is here.
The allure of a person stepping on stage, who steps up his game each time, by not just taking steps but the whole staircase and looking forward to taking the other flight of stairs to get where he wants to be at as an artist and person. Keeping the crowd in awe with skillful wordplay and a metaphorical stance on life and himself as he speaks out lyrics such as, "I am married to the GAME but divorced the state of mind. Because I keep having an affair with Academics while I cheat with her with Ignorance.” This type of wit escalates Lindo on a level that many admire as he continues to state "my mind state is not of world, place, or state that most common people think . . ." -Lindo Yes!
