So just in case we die, let me see your soul…
After four years of performing as the lead singer of the bubblegum/dance-pop group, including releasing a 5-song EP, a single featuring the New Boyz, 4 music videos and performing nationwide on pop icon Justin Bieber’s sold-out My World Tour in 2010, the group parted ways in 2011 and Tinashe began to forge her own musical journey, writing and recording as a solo artist.
“When I write the songs I’m not thinking about making radio singles, or wondering if I’m making what people “want to hear” because no one truly knows what they want to hear… until they’ve heard it. So instead I try to make the music that I want to hear, and hopefully someone else out there will like what they’re listening to as well.” says the petite Zimbabwean/Norwegian/Danish mix.
“I want to make music that evokes real emotions and can create an image in the listener’s mind…. but I’m singing about real things: heartbreak, love, fear, bliss, sex…I want my music to be honest.”
Tinashe’s background in professional songwriting were the beginnings for her to craft her own sound in her solo material – after releasing two free mixtapes "In Case We Die" and "Reverie" from her website 2012, she signed to Sony/RCA and began working on her debut album.
New music from Tinashe is on the way!
