From a young age Phil Haymaker has had a deep love and passion for performing music. He was always looking to find out how he could best satisfy his need to express himself through music. In his younger years he explored several instruments including piano and trumpet and was always involved with choirs in school and church.
While a teenager, Phil discovered the guitar. Unable to bear the thought of taking any more lessons, he set out to teach himself how to play. As he learned more about the guitar, he also discovered the ability to write songs. This ignited a fire inside of him, and new purpose and meaning for his life were revealed.
For many years, life got in the way of Phil’s dream of becoming a full-time musician. During that time he did write many songs and also served as a worship leader at the church he attends with his wife, Mary, but he did not have a clear vision of how to fulfill his life-long dream. Finally the time came to take the step of faith, and with his wife’s support he walked away from his corporate job to start making his dream a reality.
Now a full time performer, the Tennessee musician is entertaining audiences with his acoustic folk with a Southern twist. Phil can be seen performing around the mid-south region of the country at various churches, festivals, coffeehouses, and clubs.
Phil's debut EP, Make It Home, and his first full album, Headed South, are available now!
