David is a band leader with a band called JoyRide in Boise Idaho.David comes from a family of musicians. His father was a singing cowboy in the 40's & 50's, while his mother "Ola Louise" pursued her own career as a professional singer and was later signed on to KAPP records.. David's father was reknowned in the Sacramento Valley of California and was known as one of the prominate DJ's of KRAK radio with his famous saying "Tell em OKIE Paul Sent You". His father having written a few country hits, such as Country Hall of Fame song Detour, others like Cant Win, Cant Place, Cant show, Hot Rod Rag, etc, had such an influence on David and his musical roots. David began playing the saxophone at a very early age and from their moved on to the piano. Since early childhood, David has picked up many other instruments, however the sax and piano are his real passions. David was fortunate to become involved in the family business, starring on the main stage of the "Detour Inn" from the age of 18. From there David hit the Reno, Tahoe, Vegas club circuit giving him a solid foundation for performance and entertaining. In 1984 David was also fortunate to find himself on the stage of "The Grand Ole Opry" in Nashville representing California's winners of the Wrangler Jeans and Dodge Trucks talent competition with his original act, California Gold. He opened concerts for Leon Russell, Darryl Worley, the Brothers Johnson, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Johnny Paycheck, Marshall Tucker Band, Sawyer Brown, Greg Kihn, The Coasters, The Drifters, The Shirelles and Sam Moore of Sam and Dave. David is also credited with writing the theme song for a motion picture "Krisi and the Legend of Mt. Shasta".
