James Williams / Bio

Born October 21, 1982 in Louisville, KY, James has been playing music since the age of 8 when he was given his first guitar by his father. Inspired by early blues and country songs of great legends such as Robert Johnson and Hank Williams, James joined his first band in 1994. He started as a bass player at the age of 11, alongside his father on drums, in a traditional country group called "Country Countdown". In those early years James became tuned in to the Nashville sounds of the 50s and 60s. Covering acts such as Hank Williams, Merle Travis, Waylon Jennings and Patsy Cline. He reflects back now on those times as the sounds that molded him into what he is today.
A chance meeting in 2011 with legendary Nashville Singer-Songwriter Chris Gantry, (Dreams Of the Everyday Housewife, Allegheny, Orange Man etc...), put James on the path as a Co-Writer on Nashvilles own, Music Row. He still continues to tour around the Louisville/Nashville area performing at local venues, fairs and churches bringing joy through country and gospel music while still being actively involved in Nashville. James has shared the stage and co-wrote with many greats in the business such as Chris Gantry, Sam Cooper, Brandon Maddox, Tyson Bowman, West Butler and many others.
In 2012, James teamed up with Whey Jennings, the grandson of Country's legendary icon Waylon Jennings. Together, they took the Ohio Valley region by storm with a Honky-Tonk-Blues sound that reverberated the Outlaw Music scene. Now flying solo, James is writing, producing and collaborating with a variety of artists in the Ohio Valley region.
Stay Tuned In for an up-coming debut album from this very gifted artist with such a unique range of music.
