Guilty Apple was created by the half-conscious minds of Caleb Tesnow and Noah Penley, on a cold November night in the heart of the Black Hills. Meeting by pure chance, these two soulful musicians connected on a level that was so powerful, they decided then and there to dedicate their lives to making music together. Unfortunately, the powerful connection was made the day before Caleb was deployed off his five and a half year military career. “I remember having an overwhelming feeling of joy, followed immediately by heartbreak,” recalls Noah. “Making a musical connection like that may only happen once or twice in a lifetime!”
No amount of time or distance kept these two musicians from playing together, and two Middle-Eastern tours later, Guilty Apple was born! Relocation was underway to the West Coast, and with a handful of songs already under their belts they were, ahmmm… excuse the pun, going to California.
There they met, again by pure chance, the extraordinary bass player Jimmy Bodnar, who would play a key role in creating the band’s bigger sound. Cara Tesnow, Caleb’s younger sister, joined the band shortly after, adding chilling vocal harmonies to the already melodic songwriting styles of Noah and Caleb.
Together they make up the current Guilty Apple line-up.
“When people ask me what kind of music we are creating, I tell them feel-good music,” Caleb boasts. “Guilty Apple can set your soul at ease, or light it on fire!”
Now with over fifty original songs, Guilty Apple is hitting the studio and the street. Bridging genres, age gaps, and making timeless music for the world to hear, you better keep an eye on them apples!
