ERIS BLANK / Bio
"EXTRODINARY THINGS HAPPEN TO EXTRODINARY PEOPLE." This has been the mantra I have embraced to look upon as I write to those individuals who are confronted with hurdles that inhibit them from moving on with there God given destiny.
My music infusion began like most aspiring artist in the church choir. The inception of my music started as a refuge, alb let somewhat of a heaven, where by I could escape the daily pain of my past to reincarnate into the anointing God had bestowed in front of me. For instance one of my singles “IM GROWN” enacts upon the maturation process of I finally realizing that I am no longer going to have low self esteem but to embark upon the new positive image that I found within myself.
There after, my musical talents were brought further along by joining local school choirs, talent shows, and singing at home in the midst of my siblings. Later I discovered how music brought a tremendous amount of joy to various people who were enthralled by my lyrical prowess.
I began playing piano when I was 8 and composing my own classical compositions by the age of 12. Playing at all my school assemblies I was offered a scholarship to take free lessons. I began writing early after that and was entered in the Oakland Oratorical fest by my sixth grade teacher leaving with second place.
My musical influences are Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Michele Jackson, Brandy Norwood, Usher, The Winans, Oletta Adams, Toni Braxton, Anita Baker, Donell Jones, Jill Scott, Beyonce, Jaheem, Lady Ga Ga, John B, Crissett Michele, Kelly Price, Mariah Carry and the list goes on.
I have difinatly come a long way from the hard headed child to the now humble man I am today. One of my songs “IM GONE” Reflects off “IM GROWN” expressing that I no longer have to allow hurt, pain and pier inflicted pride to stagnate my way to the top. I know now how to walk away and follow my rainbow where there will be “GOLD”, another one of my songs that in tells my listeners to rise above excuses and instill belief within. Over all music reminds me that extraordinary things happen to extraordinary people.
