There’s more to The IZM than meets the eye.
On the surface the band, which consists of Jaesen Moore (vocals), Jason Woolley (Guitar), Merrill Weekley (Guitar), Matt Sellers (Bass) and Nadia Manigo (Drums), may appear to be just another group of friends playing hard rock-influenced music.
But look beyond a sound that draws from bands such as System of a Down, Tool and Soundgarden and you’ll find an underlying theme deeper than that of any other band on the Grand Strand — or perhaps the planet.
“The theme of [our music] is just the understanding that there’s more. Everything that they tell us, everything seen and felt, there’s more out there that is beyond understanding,” says Moore. “Essentially that’s the theme to get people open their minds about what it is I’m talking about and to get people to think.”
Guided by this basic existential principle, The IZM has broken down the conventions of traditional rock music locally while also balancing jobs, families and music.
And though these worldly issues,The IZM will continue their quest to open the minds of global music fans!
