decker's music is as expansive as the desert surrounding the band's home in Sedona, Arizona: a bit desolate, with shifting moods, at times sparse and eerie, while others surprisingly beautiful and comforting.
With last year's well-received release of the more musically explorative 4th studio album "Slider" decker. fully realized the band’s unique sound. Drawing on the folk songwritings of yesteryear, the music is lyrically, vocally and emotionally driven with melodic and psychedelic undertones making it something quite more than what one typically calls folk. All parts together, decker. is soulful, desert rock.
Having recently shared the stage with bands such as The Local Natives, Dr. Dog, Deer Tick and Keller Williams, after repeat appearances in festivals such as SxSW in Austin and Arizona's McDowell Mountain Musical Festival, with four albums to the name and growing underground attention, decker. now seeks to expand into new territory. Building on the sounds of Slider, the band is currently writing and recording a follow-up EP. "Patsy" will be released in the summer of 2014, concurrent with several support tour dates.
