The Push Pens / Bio

The Push Pens are a Xicano hip-hop group based out of San Antonio, Texas. Dino Foxx, Manuel "Cros" Esquivel and Billy Muñoz make up this interesting grouping of queer identified and straight identified men, working to bring a the taste of something different to the world of hip-hop.

Openly gay emcee, poet, and performance artist Dino Foxx partnered with hip-artist and poet Manuel "Cros" Esquivel to document the stories of their past filled with family disunity, violence, machismo, homophobia and tumultuous relationships.

As the group began work on an original hip-hop musical, "Last Call for Truth", they were joined by Billy Muñoz, a performance artist and percussionist. "Last Call for Truth" toured through North Carolina and New Mexico and opened for a six show run in San Antonio, Texas at Jump-Start Performance Co. in April of 2011.

The Push Pens are now in the process of writing and recording their sophomore album to be released in the fall of 2011.
