In 2011, Janifer became the Women's New York State Karaoke Champion for the Karaoke World Championships.
In 2010, Janifer became the Tech Karaoke Champion during "Internet Week New York's" Tech Karaoke Live Band Challenge. She was flown to Bogota, Colombia, courtesy of Zemoga, one of the top internet companies of 2010, as listed in Inc Magazine.
In 2004, Janifer was awarded Best Female Vocals in a Rap/Hip-Hop track for seven straight weeks from Garageband.com.
Strong, passionate, versatile, with a history of STUNNING A CROWDED ROOM INTO SILENCE, Janifer is without a doubt a force to be reckoned with. This Taiwanese born, New York bred bridge artist crosses the line between R&B soul with a rock attack. Known to span multiple genres (rock, pop, hiphop, dance, & R&B) with ease, Janifer has been compared to Janis Joplin and the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin.
Janifer has graced the cover of The New York Times metro section, seen on NY1, featured on Newsweek online, and Time Out New York Online, amongst others. She was also featured in the United Nations charity album “Voyces United for UNHCR”, released in Europe December of 2005. In 2009, Janifer is featured on the anti Proposition 8 single "Free to Love" with Premiere Entertainment recording artist Lovari, which has received airplay from Clearchannel's New York dance radio station, 103.5 KTU.
“Defy misconception”, this is the essence of what Janifer does and what her talent is all about.
