There comes a time in an artist’s life when a journey must be taken, and when a dream must be pursued. For country singer and performer-Jena, that time is now. The product of a strong and loving family, Jena’s journey towards her dream began the first time she sang in front of an audience. Born in the “one stop light” town of Bladenboro, North Carolina, she remembers that moment well, “The first song I ever sang on stage in front of a crowd was “Angels Among Us” by Alabama” she recalls, adding. “Right then and there, was the beginning of something wonderful.” With influences ranging from Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and Garth Brooks, Jena has taken that “something wonderful” and has grown it into her own very special identifiable sound. The best way to describe the “Jena” sound, is to say that it’s vintage old country with a blue grass feel and a style that appeals to a new generation. “It’s a mixture of Bluegrass and traditional country with a contemporary feel” she explains smiling, “It’s like nothing and everything you’ve ever heard, I’m gonna make my mark in country music-you wait and see!” That same determination to succeed is evident in everything she does, for her it’s a matter of faith. “I have a lot of faith.”, she continues. “I have faith that my music can help people cope with life, and make them more honest and truthful too”. There comes a time in a artist’s life when a journey must be taken, and when a dream must be pursued. Lucky for us all, Jena’s, time is now!
