Mike Zimmerman got his start in the power-pop band “The Shout” during the 90’s, performing with other regional artists such as Jeffrey Gaines, Kix, and the undisputed gods of garage rock, The Chesterfield Kings. Since then Mike has continued to write and perform and produce local music events in the mountain-town of Milford, PA. Mike was first inspired by the music he heard in his granny's record collection (e.g. Woody Guthrie, Elvis, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash), later by seminal rockers and songwriters from the 60's and 70's's such as The Doors, The Beatles, The Byrds, Nick Drake, and Leonard Cohen, and recently by contemporary artists such as REM, Wilco, Fleet Foxes, My Morning Jacket, and Iron and Wine. His songs represent these and countless other musical and nonmusical influences. Like Woody says, "All you can write about is what you see”.
