One of the youngest professional rock bands in the world, Ottawa trio Brothers Dubé got their start playing classic rock covers for their mom to keep her spirits high as she fought cancer. Following her death, the brothers raised funds to fight cancer and in 2010 drew their attention to Haiti, drawing crowds of thousands to their sidewalk stage. Playing renditions of rock’s greatest anthems, these street performances raised over $150,000, which they donated to orphans in Haiti. Upon visiting Haiti in 2012, the brothers filmed a documentary to share with North American youth in a rock musical performance that received numerous awards such as United Way’s Community Builder of the Year award.
