December 7, 2012 was a very proud day for 21-year-old singer/songwriter, Candice McLeod as she released her debut single, ‘Whispers’. The beginnings of 2013 see this young artist calling the open road home whilst touring the country for 6 months to promote her release.
With shows in 2013 along the Great Ocean Road, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Tasmania all confirmed, Candice’s folk/pop creations are expected to warm the hearts of each and every listener as she presents her new single, which includes a chilling bonus track.
Drawing influence from a broad range of artists including Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley and more recently Joni Mitchell and Rick Price, Candice McLeod has developed a style that is uniquely her own. Playing piano from the age of 3, Candice later branched out to guitar and soon found herself singing and writing her own songs. In 2007, she was a finalist in the Q-Song Awards for her songwriting abilities.
Candice’s trademark exuberance has already captivated audiences at a wide variety of venues around Australia, from cafes and restaurants to large outdoor festivals and leading venues such as The Great Northern Hotel (Byron Bay), The Pacific Hotel (Yamba), The Loft (Gold Coast) and The Sol Bar (Maroochydore).
Described as endearing and unique, and embracing a different lifestyle to most, Candice couldn’t be more thrilled to hit the road. The ‘Whispers’ single launch tour will reveal this gypsy soul in her most raw form.
