Rocio is a violinist, violist, who has ventured into the world of singing and songwriting. After falling in love with music as a young girl and attending a high school for the performing arts, Rocio studied performance violin at USC’s Thornton School of Music. As a result of many hours of practicing her violin, Rocio suffered a debilitating injury to her left arm. Though her career as a classical violinist appeared to be over, Rocio credits this as the turning point for the discovery of other styles of music, and eventually her own musical sound – urban folk with classical string harmonies.

Rocio has made a name for herself as being one of Los Angeles’ exceptional improvising violinists. This versatile artist has played in styles ranging from Country to Mariachi. She learned to improvise in her early years through the rock and country bands that she played with in college, and later went on to become one of the most sought after violinists in the Latin music scene.

Rocio has toured with Marc Anthony, Los Lobos and Quetzal; performed with Josh Groban and Cuban bass legend Cachao; recorded with The Red Hot Chili Peppers and GRAMMY® Nominated Caravana Cubana, among others. She is a violinist, string arranger and co-writer on the 2013 GRAMMY® Award-winning album “Imaginaries” by Quetzal. Rocio has also arranged and recorded as musical director for the GRAMMY® Award-winning Mariachi Divas, and she’s been a featured soloist with Ozomatli at the Hollywood Bowl.

In terms of work for film and television, Rocio has recorded for several major motion pictures including “Blow” starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, “Dance with Me” starring Vanessa Williams and “The Rugrats Movie”. She has performed on television programs such as The Young and the Restless, Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, The Rosie O’Donnel Show and The Tonight Show. Rocio has also performed on The GRAMMY® Awards, NBC’s The Voice, American Idol and The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. She appeared on The X Factor on FOX, MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards and Radio Music Awards. She is in the 2013 Maroon 5 music video for their single "Daylight" as a featured musician from Playing for Change. Rocio teaches violin, viola and guitar as a faculty member of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

Rocio Marron, released in November 2011, represents the kind of poetic musical stylings and poignant lyrics the artist hopes will linger in people’s minds. The songs in this debut album draw from Rocio’s own life, and are designed to touch people’s hearts. Rocio composes her songs, performs vocals, violin, viola, guitar, and arranges as well as engineers her tracks. Her string arrangements and engineering services can be heard in many albums of various genres. Rocio’s next solo album is set to be released in November 2013.
