Since the release of their critically-acclaimed debut album “Top Fuel Boogie” in 2001, McPherson Struts have been tearin' up the road playing their brand of punk-infused country rock.
Known for their over-the-top stage antics, unique set-up (stand-up drummer/singer) and often hilarious lyrics, the Struts have left a trail of rabid fans in their wake. With the release of the “Shocker” EP in 2005 and “The Gear-jammin', Door-slammin', Nitro-burnin' Genius of McPherson Struts” in 2009, and the release of "Slam Bang” in 2012 they have proved that the road never ends.
Guitarist Devin Williams' love for fuzzed-out garage rock, along with Buck McPherson's affinity for '50s and '60s rockabilly/surf and Jeff Freeman's punk-inspired bass attack combine for what Atlanta's Creative Loafing magazine describes as “A delightfully deranged country/punkabilly trio. These guys are like Jason and the Scorchers, scattered, smothered and covered with the Circle Jerks.”
But the Struts sound can be summed up in two words ... ALABAMA COWPUNK!
McPherson Struts have headlined venues and festivals throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico, and have shared the stage with such diverse and notable acts as George Thorogood, the Black Crowes, Drive-by Truckers, Agent Orange and Drivin N Cryin and more.
With their new release slated for the summer of 2014, McPherson Struts continues to tour. Bringing with them a high-energy show, combined with a professional attitude and musicianship that keep the crowds coming back for more.
