Tim Lewis is an active musician and artist who has performed in San Francisco for over 20 years. His repertoire includes the songbooks of Gershwin, Ellington, Porter, Rodgers & Hart as well as great standards from the 40’s/50’s, Tin Pan Alley, Broadway and Blues. He also writes songs, some of which are included here. Whether playing solo or with groups, Tim blends a warm mix of jazz piano stylings.
Local venues he’s played solo piano at include Maye’s Oyster House, where he played for the last three years of its historic life, Marriott/Union Square-Level 3 Lounge, Lush Lounge, Metro Bar, Martuni’s, Josie’s Cabaret, Red Devil Lounge, Caffe Trieste and the Phone Booth. He also had a guest appearance at the Liberace Museum! He has done hotel and private parties at at the Four Seasons, St. Francis and SF Olympic Club.
Tim has worked with several musical groups and vocalists at such
places as Cafe du Nord, Plush Room, Charpe’s, Blue Lamp, Buckley’s, Mason St. Wine Bar, SF GLBT Pride Festival (main+side stages) and the historic SF Bohemian Club. He also performed through the Bread & Roses organization for a year.
He’s accompanied such talent as the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Connie Champagne, Kelly Houston, Donna Sachet and Mem’fis as well as occasionally doing his own vocals, as he did on his CD Some Cats Know recorded at Walhberg Studios and Dolby Lab.
In addition, Tim is also an accomplished freelance graphic designer, working on many music, book and entertainment related projects. Venues appreciate the fact that he brings this skill and creates his own promo materials for the gig.
