Dat Baker Boy Gumbeaux / Bio

Ever since Dat Baker Boy Gumbeaux was born his love for music has been evident. He was nicknamed “Gumbeaux” in high school for his constant threats to make gumbo out of the opposing teams while participating in football and wrestling. The “o” was dropped and the “eaux” was added to represent his Creole heritage.

Gumbeaux, a Baker, Louisiana native, prides himself on being a lyricist. His combination of Creole slang, Deep South Louisiana culture and smooth as silk flow patterns is what makes listening to his music enjoyable for people of all ages. Unlike most rappers from the Bayou State, Gumbeaux's music doesn't cater to one particular audience. His strategic approach to his writing methods can be compared to those of well renowned authors. One of his traits that stand out the most is his versatility. He has written songs that have tackled a wide variety of subjects, from the experiences and sights he has seen in the streets of Baker and Baton Rouge to songs asking the Lord for help with making it in life. His music was so impressive that the CEO of local recording company, Ryden High Records, offered him fifty percent of his label to work with him. The offer was accepted which made Gumbeaux the new Co-CEO of Ryden High Records.

The South is at the top of the industry right now and its time for Dat Baker Boy Gumbeaux to make his mark. When someone thinks of Louisiana they think of gumbo, the flavor of the South. With Louisiana’s culture, festivals and overall lifestyle incorporated into his music, Gumbeaux represents all that is the TRUE Louisiana!
