Richard Goering was moved to play the guitar after watching the Beatles’ television performances. Two years later, after seeing Andres Segovia, he began to study classical guitar. His passionate performance of music from the Renaissance to the present day prompted one critic to write “the guitar is for our time but it is also for all time.” (Louisville Courier Journal)
Comfortable in traditional and nontraditional venues, Richard Goering has performed to enthusiastic responses in outreach settings and on concert series both in the U.S. and internationally. In addition to solo performances, Richard regularly performs in Alegria, with flutist Suzanne Bona, in the Levassor Duo with violist Steven Rosen, and with violinist Tatiana Berman.

Corriere della Sera, Rome
