Rocky Lo is a young student currently in Saginaw Michigan finishing a degree in philosophy at Central Michigan University. Born March 6th 1990 as the youngest sibling of eight, he says “I grew up like any ordinary child having a family that always told me to aim high. I cannot stress how much they taught me and I am forever grateful of the sacrifices they made for me. They are the best support I have and the reason behind all my accomplishments”. His parents are Hmong and were born and raised in Laos up to their early twenties when they came to America in nineteen seventy nine. In his younger years his family moved from city to city finally settling down in Saginaw MI when he was thirteen. It was here where Rocky started to develop an interest in music; he started off playing covers with his brothers and soon after started a band of his own. All throughout high school and early college years he focused his studies on music and with the help of his teachers he was able to write his own. He played in and out of bands finally settling with one called “Nothing Efficient”. The band had a fun run but after two years they called it quits. Rocky set focus on a solo path and recorded his first album titled “Aim High” and says “This album really expresses my adolescence and immaturity since most of the songs were written throughout my high school years. I look back at those years with fun and humor and look forward to my future and the lessons they will bring; I believe learning is the key to expanding and understanding your true capabilities”.
