The music of Owenstone doesn’t sit still on one sound. It could be because of the varied places the songs have been written; airports, a basement storage unit, a fishing boat, public parks, subway cars, or on a notepad at another band’s show. Before there was a band, frontman Nathan Owen gathered inspiration from many places, while doing many other things. Like: designing and building film sets, playing occasional roles as an indie actor, lending his voice to Japanese animations, and pursuing countless random adventures in the U.S. and abroad.
Now there is a band, (Gerry Doot, Anthony Marks, Erik Hallsey, Greg Tariloff) and what started with a recording collaboration with producer Mick Smiley is starting to make waves in the LA indie scene with their energetic live shows. With a tour to New Orleans and SXSW, and West Coast tour dates under their belt, they will be releasing their 5-song EP as well as their third music video (directed by Nathan Owen) in July 2014.
