JaRay, a multi-talented singer/songwriter/producer and artist from Detroit, MI is on creating a buzz in the world of music! He is on a mission to become not just successful, but appreciated in the music industry.
After being a part of many different choirs in church, and school, taking lessons, receiving awards for recitals and even traveling on school tours, JaRay had his first studio recording experience in 2006, at Triple Platinum Studios in Detroit.
He followed in the footsteps of his longtime mentor, advisor, and studio owner Wayne (DJ Mann) Clark, and lead producer Mark "3-1" Bingham. Absorbing as much as he could about production, he recorded his first collection of songs for The Urban/Gospel CD entitled “Just the Beginning.” The cd included 11 tracks, ten of which were produced by JaRay.
Triple Platinum Entertainment eventually drifted apart until finally closing the downtown recording studio. JaRay continued to write but it just wasn't the same.
Eventually he took a break from music to focus on work and school. Although it was refreshing, there was something missing in his life. Music.
In 2009, JaRay signed with "C" Note Productions, an artist management company.
With "C" Note he completed a successful three song demo project in hopes of eventually signing a record contract. The demo was well received and with a new sound and production from one of Detroit's hottest producers Darell "Red" Campbell, he produced two potential hit singles, "Good Love" and "Heartbreaker."
JaRay would go on to be a featured artist and interviewed by Sylvia Simone of Detroit's own, WGPR 107.5 FM. "Good Love" would be featured on the radio station and added to rotation. He also gained the attention and support of legendary radio personality Keith Landecker and has been featured on several radio stations in states including MI, OH, TN, and FL. Things were looking great and the ball was rolling, only to slowly lose momentum.
Unfortunately in 2012, after three years, JaRay and "C" Note Productions decided to end their business relationship.
JaRay is now an unsigned independent artist. He is focusing on putting together a much anticipated live show, finishing his first full professional album, and continuing to build on his music career.
His goal is to release his album in 2014. He is also working on some other exciting things including several video projects with Detroit's own Flatline Films and building his very own artist Website!
