Do As The Romans Do is a metal/hardcore band from St. Cloud, Minnesota who knows how to, “really put on a show” fans say in reference to not only the music aspect, but also our stage presence and high level of energy. Playing a unique hybrid of heavy breakdowns, fast metal riffs, and upbeat chorus’, we look to set ourselves apart from other bands by not writing and playing like so many other bands.
Our debut EP, 10.19.1929, will be released early spring 2011 and will showcase five original songs. We look to promote as much as possible by playing shows all throughout Minnesota and nearby states. We are looking to build a stronger fan base throughout this area by offering our EP and t-shirts to spread our name. Winning the St. Cloud Rocks competition with 782 votes helped us gain a strong following in the central Minnesota area as did our music video for our song, “The Last Plea”, which was shot by future drummer Luke Lien.
We formed as a four piece with vocalists Adam Ziegler and Steve Olson (Steveo), guitar player Nate Peterson, and former drummer Tony Domico. Eventually, in 2009 bass player Aaron Bjork joined as well as a second guitar player. From there we dedicated much time to writing and playing shows, these shows included opening for War of Ages, Shai Hulud, Living Sacrifice, From First To Last, For All Those Sleeping to name a few. Eventually Tony had to split ways with the band and Luke Lien stepped in offering new ideas, talents and helping the band progress. Sean Doan has recently joined on drums to replace Luke who went on to pursue his career and has helped lead the band in an even heavier direction. As of January, 2011, Jon Schulte has entered the band as the second guitarist and brings different aspects to the table that will only move us forward. With this lineup we look to play many shows, record a full length album, and sign with a label
