BLACK SOUL SWAMP...
...is a Detroit based rock band whose members each have a long history with and love for rock, southern rock and metal.
The beginning of Black Soul Swamp (BSS) was spent with the 2012 & 2013 line-up writing and recording the debut album entitled "Songs from the Swamp Part 1 & 2" which at the time included members Shawn Moore- Guitar (Crucified Nation, Abandon and Dark October) , Justin Babcock- Vocals (Fate, Abandon and Dark October), J. Chris- Guitar (Retroburn, Dark October), Doug Kaye- Drums (Koyl and Abandon) and Bassists- Jeff Wagner and Terry Schumate.
After Doug, Jeff and Terry left for various reasons, BSS reformed in 2014 with LorenZo Gonzalez on drums (Tokyo Blade, Reverence, OverloadeD) and Wally Filipiak on Bass (Last, Hush, The Unheard). While they didn't record the album, the addition of these two heavy hitters has only solidified the bands agenda and goals.
The song "Blind Man” off the debut was chosen by the director of an independent film out of Grand Rapids, Michigan to be showcased in the film "I Wish" as well as the sound track.
In March of 2014 the band was approached by Dear Street Productions and the Witching Hour Entertainment group to record the new BSS video for the song "BROTHER". The video is set for release in early spring, 2014.
The guys of Black Soul Swamp are stoked about what is in store for this line-up and look forward to sharing their music with the world as promoters in the Midwestern U.S. market have already entrusted them to pump up the crowd and share the stage with Candle Box, members of Motley Crue, Tesla, Shinedown as well as Buckcherry and former Ozzy Osborne guitarist Jake E Lee’s new band Red Dragon Cartel.
