After studying at a classical conservatory in Northern California, Kacee moved to Los Angeles and began modeling, acting, and doing commercial work as a singer and writer. She has since recorded and produced 3 of her own CDs: Seeing Red (1996), Mama Came to Sing (2005), and Short On Time & Money (2013).
She toured extensively with both Joe Cocker and Luis Miguel as a background singer, and with Big Brother & the Holding Company as their lead vocalist. She has also worked with G.E.M. Tang, Richard Marx, Michael Bolton, Beth Hart, Guy Sebastian, and Savannah Robinson.
Kacee has been very involved in the theater world as well, and recently played the alternate lead in the Broadway production of A Night With Janis Joplin at The Lyceum Theatre in New York City. Her regional credits include: One Night With Janis Joplin at ZACH Theatre in Austin, TX and San Jose Repertory Theatre in San Jose, CA; Love, Janis at San Diego Repertory Theatre and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. Other theater credits include: Your Town Follies, a Cirque Comique at El Portal Theatre, Los Angeles, CA; Love, Janis at Downstairs Cabaret Theatre in Rochester, NY; Repartee ’07 at Kansas City Repertory Theatre, co-starring Grammy winner Gregory Porter.
Kacee joined the LA College of Music faculty in 2008 as a vocal and performance instructor and has been instrumental in designing the physical performance class, rock history curriculum, and the mentor program.
She also works as a private coach and producer for both independent and signed artists, and writes/records for film and TV. She has been a writer and/or singer on numerous projects, including The Tooth Fairy (20th Century Fox), Kinsey (Fox Searchlight Pictures), The Tonight Show, Brothers and Sisters, Fox Sports, Cribs, Open House New York, 18 to Life, The Guiding Light, Regis & Kelly, Parkinson (UK), etc., and a voiceover and/or jingle artist for HFC Beneficial, HSBC, Tide, Heavy Gear (Activision), Saboteur (AE Games), etc.
