Paul Green began writing music while on probation from the University of Florida. Following some “illicit” dorm room activity in celebration after seeing Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev speak live, he was forced to sit out a semester. Paul then spent some time in southern Florida, forming his first band. Now, almost ten years later, it is safe to say that he has been around the block in the music game.
Thirty-year-old Paul Green has performed original music in many cities throughout Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina and covered the state of Florida up and down. Whether it was with his band Skyscraper, an art gallery party or an open-mic night, Paul is the first to jump at an opportunity to share his music with others.
With a recent relocation to Orlando, Paul went solo- a man, a guitar and a big voice. This did not last long. As his hype grew locally a band was the next logical step.
To say that PC GREEN is a vocally driven band would be an understatement. Paul is a soulful folk singer- his voice wears many hats. By creating vocal characters to compliment PC GREEN’s multi-dimensional writing style, Paul’s voice acts as another instrument in the band.
Ironically, Paul calls himself a poet before a singer. Once listeners hear past his strikingly refreshing voice, the words he speaks establish a strong connection. Paul is a UCF student double majoring in history and anthropology. Working towards being a college professor, a Masters degree is in his near future. For now, he teaches through his lyrics; listeners are his students.
Paul was recently asked why people should listen to his music. His response:
“I give them a piece of me. I sing with every piece of my body. I help them feel something more.”
